MISTURA BEIRÃO: THE COMPETITION FOR THE BEST COCKTAILS TAKES PLACE IN PRIME TIME ON TVI

The Portuguese people's favourite spirit announces the launch of the television programme "Mistura Beirão", the first mixology competition to be broadcast on a free-to-air channel in prime time. This innovative weekly programme, developed in partnership with TVI/Shine, is set to premiere on 15 June at 11pm and will be on air for five weeks. Mistura Beirão promises to revolutionise the art of making drinks in Portugal, highlighting the talent and creativity of the country's bartenders and barmaids, contributing to the recognition of this profession. The programme marks the return of Maria Cerqueira Gomes to the presenter's chair, who, alongside Rui Simões, will reveal the talent of 10 contestants in the confection of art in a liquid state. Throughout the season, Mistura Beirão will welcome several special guests, including Chef Carlos Afonso, Leonor Seixas, Isaac Alfaiate, Madalena Brandão, Fernanda Serrano, among others, who will also be judges. However, it will be the mixology experts who will play a key role, helping to uncover the secrets of unusual ingredients and advanced techniques.
“This is a long-held dream come true. As the number one spirit in Portugal, we feel a responsibility to promote training and information about the fascinating field of mixology”, says Daniel Redondo, General Director of Licor Beirão. “Portugal has already made an excellent journey in elevating gastronomy with programmes such as Masterchef, so now it is time for us to do the same for mixology, revealing the incredible professionals we have in Portugal.”
“Mistura Beirão is a great investment by TVI that comes at the right time... it is an irresistible invitation for warm summer nights. We are very happy with this partnership and believe it is the perfect mix for success” comments João Patrício, Executive Director of Entertainment and Fiction at TVI.
With five episodes taking place over five weeks, 10 talented contestants will compete in intense and challenging challenges, all with the goal of finding "the master of mixology". In the elegant and refined studio of the show, recorded at Suspenso Lisboa, the contestants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity.
In the grand finale, only one contestant will be crowned the best bartender in Portugal and will have the chance to attend the advanced course in New York, a unique opportunity to hone their skills and gain international recognition.
Mistura Beirão is more than a competition; it is a celebration of the art of making drinks and the creativity of Portuguese bartenders. Don't miss it on TVI.
